How big are the files?
Files created after April of 2005 are shot with a Nikon D2x. These files are larger than 9 x14 inches out of the camera and can easily fill a two-page spread even with some cropping.
Files created before April 2005 were created with a Nikon D1x and those can cover a two-page
spread, however, we will examine the file to make sure it will do so with adequate sharpness.
To find out when a photo was shot just look at the first 6-digits of the filename. The first 2 numbers are the year, the second 2 are the month and the last 2 are the day. For example, a file with the name 060804 was shot on August 4, 2006.
About the Lightbox:
Creating an account on Digital Railroad allows you to use a Lightbox. If you are not familiar with the
concept, a Lightbox is a place to store certain images you want to come back to later. It can be used to compare images, share groups of images with others, put together an image request, or whatever else you can think of. You are also allowed to create more than one Lightbox.
Model Releases:
In general, we do not collect model releases from subjects photographed on the street or at other
gathering places during motorcycle rallies. There are certain cases when Michael will have the subject sign a release and we do are best to make sure those images are appropriately marked in our archive. We do obtain model releases before organized rides.
Image Requests:
When making a request, you will be asked for specifications regarding the use of the image(s) and then an email will be sent to us with all that information. After receiving the email, we will determine a price for your particular usage and get back to you as soon as can.
To request multiple images, first click on the ckeckboxes of the images you want to request. Then click on 'Batch actions' at the top of the page and select Get High Res.
