“Sure Shot” in Chiba Prefecture was my last Japanese shop visit. Takuya Aikawa was formally trained as an industrial designer, but instead of working at Toyota or Panasonic, he followed his passion and became a mechanic.

Shops in Japan II
Heading north from Tokyo, we landed at Koji Hamada's shop where he does amazing work with old engines. Five years in a Cali H-D shop honed his mechanical skills as well as his English, which helps with the hunt for old bikes.

“Sons of Speed” took up most of my day Saturday but it wasn’t the only thing going on. I did stop by Main Street before heading to the track and it was busy. Not a Bike Week March busy, but still plenty of bikes riding through.

Friday started out very brisk as we left Williams, AZ headed to Lake Havasu City, for stage 13 of the Race of the Century. There weren’t many complaints, however, because it was dry and we knew the further west we went the warmer it would get.
